ECO FEST ART EXHIBITION DEBUTS IN ASPEN IN 2010

Red Brick Arts Council presents a collaboration with Eco Fest, the first annual Aspen ECO FEST Art Exhibition 2010 on April 5–25 at participating venues throughout Aspen. Award Ceremony is on Sunday, April 25 at 2:00 pm at the Inn at Aspen. The judges are Paul Collins, Interim President of Anderson Ranch Arts Center; Bayard Hollins, nationally renowned local artist; and Jay Magidson, Director of Ann Korologos Gallery in Basalt. Eco art serves to inspire and encourage environmentally friendly practices that will benefit the community and our ecosystem. Many local businesses are participating in displaying the art. Venues include Alpine Bank, American National Bank, Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, Aspen Recreation Department, Christ Episcopal Church, Community Banks, Hyatt Grand Aspen, Inn at Aspen, Limelight Lodge, Molly Gibson, Pitkin County Library, Red Brick Center for the Arts and Vectra Bank.

Executive Director of the Red Brick Arts Council Debra Muzikar says: “It will be the largest program supporting artists and art in education in western Colorado involving 21 Colorado counties, 54 school districts and 82,000 students. The Eco-Art Exhibition collaboration between Aspen Eco Fest and the Red Brick Council for the Arts has led us down a very exciting new path.” “The event will bring together an eclectic mix of Earth Friendly art from the Western Slope of Colorado,” adds Shae Singer, director of Eco Fest.
