Red Brick Resident Artists: Free Community Programs
Making a Picture Book with Lucy Tremols (Books for Haiti School Kids)

Location: Aspen and Basalt TBA

Sponsored by an organization called "Kids to Kids International", we
will be making picture books to send to schools in Haiti. In
addition, we ask each participant to bring, as a donation, a school
supply to add to a collection box that will be sent to Haiti along
with the books. Examples of school supplies are, box of crayons, pack
of pencils, packet of loose leaf paper... The workshop will begin
with a short discussion on the natural disaster in Haiti so that the
kids will understand the effects the earthquake had on this country.
We will decide as a group which topic to work on - animal book, number
book, alphabet book, letter book. Each participant will then make at
least one page for the book(s). The pages are then collected, bound
and laminated.
